Himba Bangle
I fell in love with these traditional Himba bangles while travelling through Namibia, Africa in 2015.
I have sourced a small number of these hand carved unisex bangles directly from a village co-op in northern Namibia and am very excited to finally make them available in the shop now.
Traditionally carved from horn, they are now made from recycled water pipe hand carved and worn by Himba tribeswomen.
I love how graphic the hand carved patterns are and how they reflect the landscape of Namibia in abstract line drawings.
The aesthetic is similar to bone or horn - they appear delicate but they are strong, flexible and sturdy.
The bangles are like a cuff, they are flexible enough to stretch and glide over your wrist.
Each bangle is hand carved and one of a kind. Due to its authenticity, the carved pattern may be slightly different from the photo. You can choose from a tan or cream base and I will pick the carving design especially for you.
